01

Issue the ticket because the payment cleared

The most common failure at the door is a ticket that exists without a payment behind it, usually because the two were recorded separately by different people.

Tie issuance to the payment clearing. Then there is no such thing as an unpaid ticket in circulation, and the door is a scan rather than a negotiation.

02

Tiers and early-bird pricing

Early-bird pricing works because it is genuinely scarce. Cap it by number, not by date, and let it sell out visibly.

Promo codes carry their own total cap and a separate per-buyer cap, enforced against the number or email the buyer checks out with, which is what stops one code being shared with a thousand people.

03

The door on the day

Assume the venue has bad signal, because it will. Download the guest list before doors open and have a second device with it too.

Decide in advance who may sell a ticket at the door and how. An event where three people are taking cash without a shared record is an event whose numbers will never reconcile.

04

Getting paid out after the event

Money from ticket sales lands in your balance as it clears. Getting it onward is a payout to mobile money or a settlement to your bank, and both are yours to trigger.

Settle after the event rather than during it, so refunds for the inevitable few can come out of the balance rather than out of your pocket.
