Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ultraner, a United States company headquartered in San Francisco, California, which is being incorporated as Ultraner, Inc. ("Ultraner", "we", "us"), collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use our website, wallets, payment processing, APIs, Ultraner Buzz messaging and the Ultraner Network. It applies alongside our Terms of Service.

1. The data we collect

Depending on how you use Ultraner, we collect:

  • Account details: your name, phone number, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), country and business details.
  • Verification (KYC) data: government identification, a selfie, business registration and tax documents, proof of address and information about your business, which the law requires us to collect before you can process payments.
  • Payment and wallet records: transactions, amounts, currencies, balances, payouts and settlements, and the payer details a payment network returns to us, such as the payer's phone number and registered name. Card details are entered on our card processors' secure pages; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Buzz messages: when a business sends SMS, email or WhatsApp messages through Ultraner Buzz, the recipient's phone number or email address, the message content and its delivery status.
  • Security and device data: IP address, device and browser information, and your sign-in history, used to keep accounts safe.
  • Usage data: pages viewed and actions taken on our website and dashboards, measured with our own first-party analytics. We keep only the host of the site that referred you, never what you searched for.
  • Communications: messages you send to our support team.

2. How we use it

  • To provide our services: run your account, process payments and payouts, deliver Buzz messages and operate the Ultraner Network.
  • To verify identity and prevent fraud and abuse, including automated checks for unusual activity that our team reviews before taking action.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money-laundering rules and record keeping.
  • To secure the platform, for example by alerting you to a sign-in from a new device.
  • To send you receipts, security codes and service notices by SMS, email or WhatsApp.
  • To support you and to understand and improve how our products are used.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Legal bases

We process personal data because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in running a safe and reliable service, or with your consent where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to provide the service or where the law requires:

  • Payment partners: licensed payment gateways, mobile money operators and banks that move the money, and card and wallet processors such as Stripe and PayPal.
  • Messaging providers: SMS and email delivery providers, and Meta for WhatsApp messages sent through Ultraner Buzz.
  • Network participants: when a payment travels over the Ultraner Network, the participants involved in that payment receive the details needed to complete it.
  • Service providers: hosting and infrastructure providers that store and run our systems on our behalf.
  • Authorities: regulators, law enforcement or courts where we are legally required to, or to protect people from fraud or harm.
  • Advisers and successors: our professional advisers, and a buyer or successor if our business is reorganised, under the same protections.

5. International transfers

We operate in the United States and in the African markets we serve, so personal data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data, we protect it as this policy describes and as the applicable law requires.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is open. Transaction and verification records are kept for as long as financial regulations require, which is often several years after an account closes. Sign-in and security records and Buzz message logs are kept for a shorter period. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.

7. Security

We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls, hashed passwords, optional two-factor authentication and passkeys, audit logs and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, Kenya's Data Protection Act and similar laws, you can ask to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent. Some data must be kept to meet legal obligations even after you ask us to delete it; we will tell you if so. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. How to delete your data

Email support@ultraner.comfrom the address on your account with the subject "Delete my data", or ask from your account's support page. We will confirm your identity, delete or anonymise your personal data, and reply within 30 days, keeping only the records the law requires us to retain. If you connected Ultraner through Facebook or WhatsApp, this also covers the data received through those services.

10. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and our own first-party analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

11. Children

Ultraner is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our products change. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice before they take effect.
