Adaptive Pricing
Let customers pay in their local currency, and settle in yours.
What it is
Ultraner Adaptive Pricing lets your customers pay in their own local currency across 30+ African markets and worldwide, while you receive the funds in your settlement currency. Ultraner picks the most relevant currency for each customer based on where they are, calculates the localized price in real time, and handles the conversion, so a buyer in Nairobi sees Kenyan Shillings and a buyer in the US sees US Dollars, while your wallet is still credited in the currency you operate in.
What you can do
- Show prices in the customer’s local currency automatically, based on their location.
- Convert at live exchange rates locked in at checkout.
- Unlock local payment methods, mobile money, cards, bank transfer and PayPal.
- Reach paying customers across Africa and the rest of the world from one payment link.
How it works
1. Customer sees the price in their currency
At checkout, the amount is presented in the customer’s local currency at a live rate.
2. They pay with a local method
M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, card or PayPal, whatever is relevant to them.
3. You are credited in your currency
Ultraner converts the payment and credits your wallet in your settlement currency.
Fees
Ultraner takes nothingon money coming in. The card or wallet provider (Stripe, PayPal or the mobile-money operator) deducts its own processing fee before the money reaches Ultraner, and the conversion uses Ultraner's live buy/sell rate. Every payment's detail page shows the exact amount processed, the gateway fee, and the net added to your balance, so nothing is hidden.
Supported currencies
Ultraner converts to and from the local currencies of the markets it operates in across East, West, Central, Southern and North Africa, plus USD, EUR and GBP for settlement. See the live buy and sell rate for every market on the exchange rates page.
View live exchange ratesWhere you see it
When a customer pays in a different currency than the one you settle in, the transaction's detail page shows a note like "Customer paid in USD using Adaptive Pricing, but the funds are transferred to you in TZS," alongside the amount processed, the gateway fee, and the net credited to your wallet.
