Your data

How to delete your data

If you have an Ultraner account, you can delete it yourself in the app. You can also ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time, whether you have an Ultraner account, paid a business through Ultraner, received a message sent with Ultraner Buzz, or connected through Facebook or WhatsApp.

If you have an Ultraner account: delete it in the app

Sign in, open Settings, and choose Delete account. You confirm it is you (your passkey, or your password and a second check), then type DELETE. The account closes straight away.

Open Settings

Deleting your account in the app

When you delete your account from Settings:

  • You are signed out on every device, and your passkeys, two-factor setup and backup PIN are removed.
  • Your phone number, email address and username are freed. If you sign up again with the same number or email later, you get a brand new, empty account with no access to the old one.
  • Businesses you belong to are not deleted. You are removed from their team, and the business carries on with its other members.
  • A restricted archive keeps the account's name, phone number, email and country, linked to its transaction, receipt and verification records, which financial law requires us to keep (see below).

The app will ask you to sort these out first, so nothing is left behind:

  • Money in your wallet: withdraw or send it, so the balance is zero.
  • Anything still in progress: pending payments or transfers, payouts, open escrows, savings and loans.
  • Being the only Owner of a business that has other members: make another member an Owner first, so the business is never left without one.
  • Being the only member of a business: empty its wallet and let anything in progress finish (payments, payouts, settlements, payroll, recurring plans that bill customers). The business is then left dormant, never deleted: it can no longer take or send money and its API keys are switched off.

To have your personal data deleted: email us

Send an email to support@ultraner.com with the subject "Delete my data". The button below opens one ready to send. Use this if you do not have an account, cannot sign in, or want everything we are allowed to delete removed, not just the account closed.

Email a deletion request

Asking by email, step by step

  1. Email support@ultraner.comwith the subject "Delete my data". Send it from the email address on your account if you have one.
  2. Tell us how to find you: your name and the phone number or email address you used with Ultraner. If you paid a business or received a message, the phone number or email it was sent to is enough.
  3. We confirm it is really you, usually with a one-time code sent to that phone number or email. This stops anyone else deleting your data.
  4. We delete or anonymise your personal data and email you to confirm what was removed and anything we had to keep, and why.

How long it takes

Deleting your account in the app takes effect immediately. For an email request, we reply within 30 days of receiving it, and usually much sooner.

What an email request deletes

  • Your profile: name, phone number, email address, preferences and sign-in history.
  • Verification documents and selfies, unless the law requires us to keep them (see below).
  • Messages sent to you through Ultraner Buzz, and their recipient details.
  • Data we received about you through Facebook or WhatsApp.
  • Usage records from our own website analytics that can be linked to you.

What we may have to keep

Financial and anti-money-laundering laws require payment companies to keep some records for a number of years, even after an account is closed: transaction records, and the identity checks behind them. We keep only what those laws require, restrict access to it, and delete it when the retention period ends. Your confirmation email tells you exactly what was kept.

If you connected through Facebook or WhatsApp

Ultraner may receive data through Meta when you sign in with Facebook or exchange WhatsApp messages with a business that uses Ultraner Buzz. A deletion request to us covers that data too.

You can also remove Ultraner from your Facebook account yourself: open Facebook, go to Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Apps and websites, choose Ultraner and remove it. To stop WhatsApp messages from a business, you can block it in WhatsApp at any time.

Your other rights

You can also ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected. See our Privacy Policy for everything we collect, how we use it and all of your rights.
